Abstract

This study proposes a method to estimate the administrative costs of regulating the business activity according to its definition. The text aims to fill a crucial gap in the academic literature of this topic. A descriptive analysis of the level of administrative burden in Latin American countries and in those that make up the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) between 2005 and 2018 is introduced, with a focus in the Argentine case. Even though the detected breech between OECD and Latin American countries benefits the former, there are specific variations over time and the studied regulations.
