Abstract

The global COVID-19 pandemic implies, among others, a major threat to the physical and mental health of humanity. In order to help fill the existing gap in the literature in this regard, the objective of this study is to determine the state of manifestation and prevalence burnout syndrome of teachers in Andalusian public universities in times of the pandemic, which is still ongoing. The study was carried out under a quantitative methodology, with a non-experimental design, and a cross-sectional descriptive approach, applying a non-probabilistic intentional sampling to teachers from Andalusian public universities. The results obtained show a high prevalence of burnout syndrome in 62% of teachers, 33% in medium grade, and 5% in low grade. Universities must develop coping strategies and preventive measures for professional burnout syndrome.
