The aim of this study was to analyze the sociodemographic and sport trajectories of recently enrolled students in the Physical Education Teachers Course of the UNLaM. A quantitative approach was used under a non-experimental, descriptive and cross-sectional design. 122 recently enrolled students of both sexes took a self-administered survey consisting of a semi-structured questionnaire. Two types of student profiles have been identified. One, consisting of students mostly <25 years of age, single, without children, unemployed, both sexes in equal proportion, and living with parents of which at least one completed secondary education. This group has a high proportion of competitive athletes, therefore they would be favored by student support programs aimed at sustaining a dual study/sport career. A second group, containing mainly older subjects, employed, and a low proportion of competitive athletes. In this case, the university support systems could be oriented towards sustaining a dual study/work career.
