This article aims to reveal what is said in the field of the Bachelor of Social Work of the Faculty of Legal and Social Sciences (Universidad Nacional del Litoral) about three concepts linked to writing that are key in professional training: field notebook, registration and social report. From a representative sample made up of thirty students and the documentary analysis of six chair programs, an attempt is made to reestablish what meanings are associated with these concepts. As part of the results obtained, the disagreement between what the student body knows about these concepts related to writing in Social Work and teaching expectations emerges as a problem. As a partial conclusion, it is understood that it is necessary to reinforce the teaching of these concepts linked to writing in the field of social work to strengthen the academic training of students and their subsequent professional performance.
