Logic, dialectics and rhetorics in argumentation studies

This paper aims to emphasize the important influence of Aristotelian logic, dialectics and rhetoric into the development of argumentation studies. On this purpose we will characterize three disciplines which have established the basis of argumentation as a matter of reason, confrontation and communication respectively. We will try to show up how the prominence of one or the other might affect in a different way the configuration of argue.
