Abstract

To build an active, democratic, sensible and responsible citizenship it is necessary that in Social Sciences, educators perform a teaching approach including critical competence. The bet on education for commitment and democratic involvement becomes necessary. Thus, this article makes a theoretical review of an action-research design, where the researcher and teacher understands education as a reflective process on his own professional development. The analysis considers school as the engine of social change and the perspective of this study is the socio-critic paradigm.
