Abstract

This article was born in response to social sciences philosopher Brian Epstein´s proposal to redirect research from a new ontological order, with its own definitions and methodological contributions. From this request I will critically review Epstein's theory, expand the review of the ontological-epistemic issues related to social sciences currently under discussion and point out the importance of linking these reflections within the axiological framework of sciences in general.
